These watches will definitely be a hit with any guitar heroes (or wannabe heroes) in your life, but don’t expect them to be easy to track down. ArtyA watches tend to be limited edition and sold direct.
Speaking of limited edition ArtyA watches, check out their KISS watches. The band members of KISS were said to be such big fans of the watchmaker, they reached out to company founder, Yvan Arpa. After spending time with the four KISS musicians, Yvan Arpa, created four individualized watches for each of them featuring their famous painted faces. Replicas of the watches were sold for a short time, but they are no longer available.

Band-inspired Watches

Another Swiss watchmaker, Zenith, pays tribute to a legendary rock band (and contemporary of the Beatles), the Rolling Stones. The watch features the Stones’ iconic bright red tongue and lips on the face. This chronograph watch is part of the El Primero line of watches a truly beautiful series of timepieces.
This version is a “skeleton” style, meaning that the inner gears are visible through the face. Like all the El Primero watches, this watch includes two subdials, a tachymeter, and a date display. Meanwhile, American watchmaker, Nixon, teamed up with American heavy metal rockers, Metallica, for a series of nine watches inspired by the band. Each watch has a design based on one of the band’s many albums, including classics, Master of Puppets and the eponymous “Black Album.”

You might come across this watch during your search, but we highly advise that you skip this one. This is actually being marketed as an EMT watch (and offers similar features as other watches on the list), but it has received many negative reviews from buyers.
Many complaints include a fogged-up display, loose velcro, and dead battery (even before usage). Some have pointed out the heaviness and bulkiness, and some said the watch stopped working after only a few days or weeks of use.
We recommend buying from brands that specialize in watches (such as the ones we’ve reviewed in this article) rather than a one-off watch from a brand that is not known for quality watches. They are well-respected for weapons and tactical gear, but the reviews alone show that this is not a watch worth investing in.

Buyers Guide: Finding a watch that does the job

Here are some of the most important things we considered when purchasing this type of watch:
Silicone or Metal Strap
Look for a watch strap that is durable, washable, and hygienic that won’t pick up odors. One of the biggest complaints is that leather watch straps start to smell pretty funky on this job. The best options are silicone, stainless steel or titanium that can be washed or wiped down daily with a CaviWipe without damaging the strap.
It is also best that you opt for non-bulky models because paramedics move fast on the jobs, and there are many things the watch can get caught on, ending up with a broken watch strap.
Easy To Clean
Things are expected to be messy when you’re a paramedic, and most need to wash and sanitize their watches constantly. Paramedics are always in contact with different types of fluids, and things can get quite nasty, so it needs to be easily rinsed and washed. Things can get to the point where some paramedics actually wash them in the dishwasher (not something we recommend- but many of the picks on this list are waterproof to 100M or more, so they can definitely be scrubbed and submerged).

The reaction to Modernism, which was in vogue for nearly 50 years, was Postmodernism, a movement that lasted into the 21^st century. Postmodernism pushed backed against Modernism in many ways, but specifically, it tossed away the rigid notion that function was superior to form. Ornate flourishes and non-uniformity were embraced.
It would be overly simplistic to say that Modernism and Postmodernism represent the two polar ends of architectural philosophy (especially because they both birthed smaller movements with their unique styles). Still, function and form are two of the biggest (if not the biggest) pillars of architecture, and how they interact is a common concern of every architect. This is true in their designs, and it can be equally true in their timepieces.

This is the golden age of wristwatch functionality, with watches getting ever more complex and sophisticated. A triangle in the center of the silver face creates pleasant symmetry while the inner second dial gives it a touch of character. Don’t look for any other special features, though, these watches keep it simple. The band is made of brown Italian leather, while the movement is Japanese. Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired Watches

American watchmaker, Bulova (whose parent company is Citizen), recently partnered with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to design a collection of watches and clocks inspired by the work of the famous architect.

The Women’s 96L63 Frank Lloyd Wright Willits Watch available on Amazon is one of the more unique pieces in the collection. Its long face design is based on the Ward W. Willits House, the first of Wright’s signature Prairie House designs. The watch has a stainless steel case, crystal face, and a leather strap.
Similar to the Cronometrics watch, this is a stylish watch with no extra features (and you probably shouldn’t swim in it), but the one-of-a-kind design is the draw here.
Same with the 98A103 Frank Lloyd Wright Men’s Watch from the same collection, which uses Wright’s personally designed Exhibition typeface for the colorful numbers on the face. Since there is no design project architects don’t like to throw themselves at, it should be no surprise that a number of them have had a hand in designing their own watches. Most of these watches were limited editions that aren’t for sale through normal retailers anymore, but that doesn’t mean an ardent enough searcher couldn’t track them down.
Project Watches is a watchmaker that hires various designers from different backgrounds to create unique, often idiosyncratic watches.
Their company logo is “Architecture You Can Wear” and when you see their collection, you will understand how apt the logo is.

The gray hour hand and black minute hand spin in the center of an all-white face, while a red second box floats around the middle. This is another minimalist-influenced watch that gets points for how well the unique design is integrated into the watch functionality.

Another of Project Watches’ designers is Columbia University lecturer, James Wine. His unique contribution to the line is the Terra-Time Watch, a monochromatic stainless steel and silicone timepiece that really has to be seen to be appreciated. Inspired by contour and topographical maps, the face uses cut-out jagged layers to mimic staring down into the earth’s core as you check the time.
The unique use of light and shadow creates the illusion of depth, so it almost seems as if you’re peering deep inside your own arm.

Features Of A Watch For Chefs

We can take it from the celebrity chefs, themselves, what would make a suitable watch for the professional chef. Say, if you look up to any of them, perhaps, Gordon Ramsay and wish to get yourself a watch just like his, then go for it. But if you’re looking for a watch with a lower price range, there are plenty of other options in the market with similar features as those watches celebrity chefs wear that can suit your budget.
Same as in the watches of the celebrity chefs, here are the features that are essential in a watch for chefs:

Heat resistance – Working with hot pots; pans; deep fryers; ovens; grills; and whatnot, a chef’s watch can be exposed to heat. Constant exposure to heat can cause adverse effects on a watch. The functionality of a watch’s parts and a watch’s accuracy can be terribly affected by high temperatures.

The parts within watches are mostly metal, which expands and contracts amidst temperature changes. That being said, when exposed to changing temperatures, a watch could either lose time with high temperatures or gain time with low temperatures.
